The classic espresso machine, Expobar Athenea brings you the taste of Spain. Just like the Ascaso vintage espresso machines, the Expobar Athenea is designed and made in Spain by Crem Aparatos Cafexpres for your ultimate coffee experience and aesthetic pleasure. Named after the Greek goddess of warfare, wisdom, and the useful crafts, this classic espresso machine is constructed from copper and bronze, and its design is somewhat influenced by Elektra Mini Verticale coffee machines. The automatic Athenea comes with built-in vibration motor-pump, automatic boiler refilling, seam wand and water tap, pressure relief valve, 1200W heating element, copper boiler with heat exchanger and automatic cleaning system. Commercially styled and sized chrome plated brass portafilter handle assures stable heat, crucial for producing top quality espresso. The all copper boiler of this classic espresso machine has a capacity of 1.8 liters, and an internal heat exchanger, that prevents the water used for brewing, from coming in contact with the water stored in the boiler for steaming and hot water dispensing. You can brew and steam or dispense hot water whenever you want to. The 3-way solenoid valve is another commercial feature that relieves the water pressure off the coffee when the brew switch is turned off. This serves two functions – it dries out the coffee to prevent dripping and makes it easy to knock the coffee out of the portafilter with one knock. The easily programmable controls makes operating these classic espresso machines a breeze. There are four buttons, that when programmed, will measure the amount of coffee going into your cup and shut off by itself. This allows you to focus in on creating the perfect froth, while the machine takes care of the espresso. There is also a main power switch and Ready light, that lets you know when the machine has achieved the proper pressure for operation. The automatic Expobar Athenea has a 5-button touch pad for activating the pump and programming your favorite drinks. Four of the buttons are available to program to automatically dispense the desired volume of water. The cup warmer on the classic Athenea will hold up to 9 espresso cups. It is made out of stainless steel and gets its heat directly from the heat off the boiler. The classic espresso machine is also equipped by multiple safety switches and controls, which monitor water levels in the boiler and reservoir. A manual reset high temperature switch is located on top of the boiler as a secondary safety switch. The boiler temperature and pressure is controlled through a professional grade pressure controller. It senses the pressure in the boiler and turns on the heating element in the boiler as the pressure drops. The price for the Expobar Athenea classic espresso machines is around $1,500 USD.
